Porcelain Veneers in Lake Forest, CA

A smile designed around your face, not a catalog

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front of your teeth. One treatment can change the color, shape, size, and apparent alignment of your smile. Dr. Audrey Lakani designs every case herself and shows you a digital preview before any tooth is prepared.

What porcelain veneers can correct

Veneers cover the visible front surface of a tooth. That lets them fix several cosmetic problems at once:

  • Discoloration that whitening can't remove, such as tetracycline or fluorosis stains
  • Chips, cracks, and worn edges from grinding or years of use
  • Gaps between front teeth
  • Uneven, short, or misshapen teeth
  • Mildly crooked teeth, when you want a straighter look without orthodontics

See your new smile before treatment starts

Good veneers suit your face: your lip line, skin tone, facial proportions, and the natural shape of your teeth. Dr. Lakani uses digital smile simulation to create a mockup of your result. You can review it, ask for changes, and approve it before any enamel is touched.

This step keeps you from getting teeth that look too white, too big, or too uniform. You choose a shade and shape that look natural on you.

The porcelain veneer process

1

Consultation & Smile Design

We talk about your goals, check your gum and tooth health, and build a digital preview of your new smile.

2

Preparation & Temporaries

A thin layer of enamel is gently reshaped under local anesthesia. Digital impressions go to the lab, and you leave with temporary veneers.

3

Custom Fabrication

Your porcelain veneers are made to the approved shape and shade.

4

Try-In & Bonding

We check the fit and color with you, then bond the veneers permanently and adjust your bite.

Are veneers right for you?

Good candidates usually have:

  • Healthy gums and no untreated decay
  • Enough healthy enamel for the veneer to bond to
  • A stable bite, or a plan to manage clenching and grinding
  • Realistic goals for a natural-looking result

Veneers aren't always the best first step. If color is your only concern, professional teeth whitening may be enough. If your teeth are healthy but crooked, Invisalign can straighten them without reshaping any enamel. We'll go over every option with you.

Cost depends on how many veneers you need and how complex your smile design is. Veneers placed purely for appearance are usually not covered by insurance, but some plans pay part of the cost when a veneer also restores a damaged tooth. We check your benefits, give you an itemized estimate at your consultation, and offer financing through CareCredit.

We see veneer patients from Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Irvine, Laguna Hills, Ladera Ranch, and Foothill Ranch.

Porcelain Veneers: Common Questions

With good home care and regular checkups, porcelain veneers commonly last 10–15 years or longer. Avoiding habits like biting nails or opening packages with your teeth, and wearing a night guard if you grind, helps them last.
Most patients find it very manageable. Tooth preparation is done under local anesthesia, and because only a thin layer of enamel is reshaped, there is usually little discomfort afterward. Sedation is available if you feel anxious about dental work.
Traditional porcelain veneers are considered an irreversible treatment, because a thin layer of enamel is removed so the veneer sits naturally. The veneers themselves may eventually need replacing, but the tooth will always need some form of covering.
Whitening gel does not change the color of porcelain. If you want a brighter overall smile, we usually whiten your natural teeth first and then match your veneers to that new shade.
It depends on how much of your smile shows when you talk and smile, and what you want to change. Some patients need only one or two veneers to fix a single chipped or discolored tooth; others choose six to ten for a full smile makeover. We will plan this with you at your consultation.
Veneers placed for cosmetic reasons are usually not covered by dental insurance. When a veneer also restores a damaged tooth, part of the cost may be covered. We check your benefits and give you an itemized estimate before treatment, and financing is available.
